FIRE Not combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.    In case of fire in the surroundings, use appropriate extinguishing media. 
EXPLOSION      
 
EXPOSURE   PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST!   
Inhalation Cough. Sore throat.  Use local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention. 
Skin Redness.  Protective gloves.  Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. 
Eyes Redness. Pain.  Wear safety spectacles.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention. 
Ingestion   Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.  Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention .

Sweep spilled substance into covered containers. If appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Personal protection: particulate filter respirator adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance.

Decomposes on heating and on burning. This produces toxic fumes of chlorine. Reacts with strong oxidants.

TLV (as Pt): 0.002mg/m³ as TWA; (ACGIH 2004).
MAK: Sensitization of respiratory tract and skin (SAH); (DFG 2004). 

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of dust and by ingestion. 

Inhalation risk
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly. 

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is irritating to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract.
