  ACUTE HAZARDS PREVENTION FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE & EXPLOSION Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.  Risk of fire and explosion as a result of decomposition when heated.  NO open flames.    Use water spray, foam, powder, carbon dioxide.  In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water. 

 STRICT HYGIENE! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN! IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR! 
  SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID
Inhalation Blue lips, fingernails and skin. Dizziness. Drowsiness. Headache. Pupillary constriction, muscle cramp, excessive salivation. Sweating. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Convulsions. Unconsciousness. Weakness. See Ingestion.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer for medical attention. 
Skin MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Further see Inhalation.  Protective gloves. Protective clothing.  Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention . 
Eyes Redness. Pain. Pupillary constriction.  Wear face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention. 
Ingestion Abdominal cramps. Confusion. Diarrhoea. Vomiting. Further see Inhalation.  Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.  Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention . 

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL CLASSIFICATION & LABELLING
Personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Ventilation. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in dry sand or inert absorbent. Then store and dispose of according to local regulations.

Decomposes on heating. This produces highly toxic fumes of phosphorus oxides and sulfur oxides. Reacts with strong oxidants. Attacks iron, some forms of plastic, rubber and coatings.

EXPOSURE & HEALTH EFFECTS

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion. 

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is irritating to the eyes and skin. The substance may cause effects on the nervous system. This may result in convulsions and respiratory failure. Cholinesterase inhibition. Exposure far above the OEL could cause death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated. 

Inhalation risk
A harmful contamination of the air will not or will only very slowly be reached on evaporation of this substance at 20°C. 

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
Cholinesterase inhibition. Cumulative effects are possible. See Acute Hazards/Symptoms.

ENVIRONMENT
The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. This substance does enter the environment under normal use. Great care, however, should be taken to avoid any additional release, for example through inappropriate disposal. 

NOTES
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is suggested.
Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available.
Technical grade is a dark-coloured liquid, boiling point 131-132°C at 0.267 kPa.
Do NOT take working clothes home.
