  ACUTE HAZARDS PREVENTION FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE & EXPLOSION Combustible under specific conditions.  Finely dispersed particles form explosive mixtures in air.  NO open flames.  Closed system, dust explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Prevent deposition of dust.  Use water spray, powder, foam, carbon dioxide.  In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.

 PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST!
  SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID
Inhalation Cough.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest.
Skin Roughness.  Protective gloves.  Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
Eyes   Wear safety spectacles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.  Rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible).
Ingestion     Rinse mouth. Rest.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL CLASSIFICATION & LABELLING
Personal protection: particulate filter respirator adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Sweep spilled substance into covered containers. If appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Then wash away with plenty of water.

EXPOSURE & HEALTH EFFECTS

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation.

Effects of short-term exposure

Inhalation risk
A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly when dispersed, especially if powdered.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
Repeated or prolonged inhalation of dusts may cause effects on the lungs. This may result in graphite pneumoconiosis.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS
TLV: (respirable fraction): 2 mg/m3, as TWA.
MAK: (inhalable fraction): 4 mg/m3.
MAK: (respirable fraction): 0.3 mg/m3; peak limitation category: II(8); pregnancy risk group: C; carcinogen category: 4

ENVIRONMENT
