ADI: CONSIDERED TO BE SAFE WHEN USED IN SUPERVISED FOOD FORTIFICATION PROGRAMMES
Comments: The Committee concluded that sodium iron EDTA could be considered to be safe in supervised food fortification programmes in response to a need for iron supplementation of the diet of a population as determined by public health officials. Such programmes would provide a daily iron intake of approximately 0.2 mg/kg bw.
