EXPOSURE & HEALTH EFFECTS

Routes of exposure
Serious local effects on contact with eyes and skin. The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour or dust and by ingestion.

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is corrosive to the eyes and skin. The substance is irritating to the respiratory tract.

Inhalation risk
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Repeated or prolonged inhalation may cause asthma. See Notes.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS
TLV: 25 μg/100 cm2 (surface limit value); (vapour): 0.1 ppb (ceiling value); (see Notes); (skin); (DSEN); (RSEN)

ENVIRONMENT
The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. The substance may cause long-term effects in the aquatic environment. It is strongly advised not to let the chemical enter into the environment.

NOTES
NEVER use a domestic-type vacuum cleaner to vacuum the substance, only use specialist equipment.
The occupational exposure limit value should not be exceeded during any part of the working exposure.
The symptoms of asthma often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort.
Anyone who has shown symptoms of asthma due to this substance should avoid all further contact.
