5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation

5.1 Animal data

Rhodamine B has been tested in mice and rats by subcutaneous injection and, in inadequate studies, by oral administration. It was carcinogenic in rats when injected subcutaneously, producing local sarcomas.

5.2 Human data

No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the Working Group.
