5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal data
In the study available, which involved few rats, succinic anhydride
produced local sarcomas after its subcutaneous injection. Further
studies are required before an evaluation of the carcinogenicity of
this compound can be made.
5.2 Human data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
