CCOHS is a corporation that was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1978. It is governed by a Council representative of governments (Federal, Provincial, and Territorial), employers, and labour. CCOHS promotes health and safety in the workplace, helps establish high standards for OH&S in Canada and develops programs that reduce or eliminate occupational hazards.
