About CCOHS

The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) the national information resource in occupational health and safety (OH&S). It is a non-profit organization, world-renowned for the reliability and usefulness of its information products and services.

CCOHS is a corporation that was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1978. It is governed by a Council representative of governments (Federal, Provincial, and Territorial), employers, and labour. CCOHS promotes health and safety in the workplace, helps establish high standards for OH&S in Canada and develops programs that reduce or eliminate occupational hazards.

CCOHS has earned an international reputation as an innovative and expert resource in the field of OH&S and in the use of CD-ROM technology for information dissemination.
