TYPES OF
HAZARD /
EXPOSURE
ACUTE HAZARDS / SYMPTOMS      PREVENTION      FIRST AID / FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible. Liquid formulations containing organic solvents may be flammable. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.  NO open flames.  Use water spray, powder, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion if formulations contain flammable/explosive solvents.

EXPOSURE   STRICT HYGIENE!
Inhalation Cough.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest.
Skin Dry skin. Redness. Roughness. Burning sensation.  Protective gloves. Protective clothing.  Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
Eyes Redness. Pain. Severe deep burns.  Wear safety goggles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.
Ingestion   Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.  Rinse mouth.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL
PACKAGING & LABELLING
Personal protection: filter respirator for organic gases and vapours adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent. Then store and dispose of according to local regulations. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment.  Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

IMPORTANT DATA
Physical State; Appearance
REDDISH VISCOUS LIQUID WITH PUNGENT ODOUR.

Physical dangers

Chemical dangers
Decomposes on heating. This produces toxic fumes including hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides.

Occupational exposure limits
TLV (NOT-ESTABLISHED):.

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

Inhalation risk
No indication can be given about the rate at which a harmful concentration of this substance in the air is reached on evaporation at 20°C.

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is corrosive to the eyes. The substance is irritating to the skin.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES ENVIRONMENTAL DATA

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. Avoid release to the environment in circumstances different to normal use.

NOTES
If the substance is formulated with solvent(s) also consult the card(s) (ICSC) of the solvent(s).
Carrier solvent may enhance the skin absorption.
Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties.
TCMTB, Busan, KEMTOX S 10 are trade names.
Card has been partially updated in February 2009: see Storage, EINECS, EC number, Packaging and Labelling, EC Classification.
