5. Summary of Data Reported and Evaluation
5.1 Animal carcinogenicity data
Methyl selenac has been tested by oral administration and by single
s.c. injection in two strains of mice. Although no carcinogenic effect
was observed in these tests, the available data are insufficient to
allow an evaluation of the carcinogenicity of this compound.
5.2 Human carcinogenicity data
No case reports or epidemiological studies were available to the
Working Group.
